Effective Representation in Government

The Spokane Home Builders Association’s Government Affairs department represents the legislative needs of our members through intense lobbying of local legislators and appointed officials. Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff uses the input of our members to assist in the development of our legislative strategy. Staff monitors, testifies, and reports on subjects such as impact fees, environmental regulations, land use policies, and a multitude of other issues.

The Government Affairs Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at noon in the SHBA Board Room. We encourage all of our members to get involved in this committee, as the issues we address have an impact each and every one of our members.

One of the most important ingredients of a successful association is an active membership that is willing to have its voice heard by the public and our elected officials. The accomplishments that can be realized through strong, grassroots efforts of our members are limitless.
